Mark Nickolas picked up on some gossip saying he'd heard feelers are out checking temps for a Pence for governor campaign. That could mean Fletcher intends to announce he won't seek reelection. Of course this is all speculation and the governor's election is two years away. The 2006 elections will determine a lot of things for both parties.
Some commentors discussed speculation surfacing last year that Bunning would resign for health reasons (most likely his wife's) and then Fletcher would appoint himself into Bunning's position and he's out of the woods for a while. Pence would take over and things would be set for 2007. Al Cross also had some input to that effect and his opinions are usually pretty solid. I had heard this from my old instructor Ferrell Wellman back in 2004. He was the Frankfort guy for WAVE3 for a couple of decades. posted by Stithmeister @ 10:38 PM 0 Comments: Post a Comment << Home |
