Democrat From Kentucky

Democrat from Kentucky
We promote fair and honest political discussion from all sides of the ideological spectrum While my own opinions and my contributors tend toward a more progressive view, that's not always the case. I ask people to comment freely and openly to promote fair discourse.

Alito;s Record on Civil Rights Wednesday, November 02, 2005

It seems Judge Alito may have some problems regarding his judgements on civil rights. While never really directly challenged the court, he attempted to set a higher standard to prove cases of discrimination. Some of his opinions even got nasty words from his camrades on the court. The Washington Post has a great feature on his background.

While Alito is just what the conservatives wanted ina judge, The rest of the country will find him difficult to swallow. If for some odd reason he shouldn't make it, then there may be actual violence from the conservatives. They would literally declare war on the Democrats, moderates and liberals. In all honesty, my response is "BRING IT ON!"
