I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby pleaded not guilty to all five criminal counts against today including two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements, and one count of obstruction of justice. The Washington Post filed the story today.
This is the next chapter in the CIA Leak scandal. At this stage, based on what I've read, I'd say this all goes back to Vice President Dick Cheney, Scooter's old boss. I think the whole thing started with him and on his orders. Newsweek mentioned Libby told colleagues he had reservations about leaking the information because it could complicate things with the CIA (imagine that). The very next day, he does just that. At this level, the order came from Cheney. He may have some sort of plausible deniability, but I don't think there's any other way this whole affair could've happened. posted by Stithmeister @ 2:10 PM 0 Comments: Post a Comment << Home |
