We promote fair and honest political discussion from all sides of the ideological spectrum While my own opinions and my contributors tend toward a more progressive view, that's not always the case. I ask people to comment freely and openly to promote fair discourse.

Brown Back On At FEMA Monday, September 26, 2005

I picked this one up at Crook & Liars. CBS News reported Michael Brown has been rehired at FEMA as a consultant to assess the response to Katrina. A move of absolute brilliance. My many cynical friends are cackling at yet another SNAFU by the Bush administration. In the corporate world, self-evaluation is important. It will be interesting to see what Brown has to say about himself. ARGH!

Lovely way to keep Brown from retaliating for being fired, neh?

Kentucky has a long history of treating government as a way of giving one's friends and family jobs or direct money. (And by that i mean that i've read microfiche transcripts of the minutes of meetings where half the business was trying to get handouts for private individuals - and that was in the first meetings to organize the govn't and write the KY state constitution.)

Anyway, these shennanigans aren't all that unfamiliar here, but does any other part of the country have the same system?
