We promote fair and honest political discussion from all sides of the ideological spectrum While my own opinions and my contributors tend toward a more progressive view, that's not always the case. I ask people to comment freely and openly to promote fair discourse.

Tax Cuts and Gas Prices Hikes Tuesday, August 16, 2005

Mark over at BluegrassReport has gotten it right. He's pointed out that the recent tax cuts save households an average of $1,448 a year. Gas price increases cost the average household an additional $1,404 a year. Absolutely wonderful. Yep... I'm glad our president is a war mongering oil man or else we'd really be paying for it.

Americans, let us try something. Let us, when a politician is elected, ask him "Just how much are you planning on making off this office? And how much do you owe your backers for financing your election?" Get a total dollar figure, whatever it is - a million for the electee, $10 million per big contributor, whatever, just bottom line it.

Then, GIVE them that much. Upfront, no legislation, no excuses, just cut them checks.

They'll get what they're going to steal anyway. And it has to save us money in the long run, just because they aren't getting it indirectly, through concealing legislation.

And who knows? If they don't have to craft legislation profitable to themselves, they might spend some time governing the country.........
